My husband John and I have a small show kennel
called CornerStone Saint Bernards, on 6 acres in the Town of Darien Center located just east of Buffalo, New York...brrrrrr....
John owns a Crown and Bridge Dental Laboratory, where I work part
time.
We have two adult children. Our oldest Jacqueline, is a Private Investigator.
Our son John III also works in the dental lab. John's wife, Lindsay is a
high school English teacher John and Lindsay and John have given us our
1st beloved Grandchild'. Her name is Aurora Nicole Balikowski, Born
February 21, 2009. And she is just perfect.
Our story begins a little more than 26 years ago when we brought home our
first Saint Bernard,
Brandy. Immediately we fell in love with this breed. Brandy, was devoted and loyal living up to the Saint Bernard reputation.
After learning more about this breed, we decided to
expand our little family and included more Saints to our growing clan. From this
moment on, fate continued to point us in the direction of our
passion for this wonderful breed. As a child I had shown my Scottish
Terrier, named Dolly at 4-H and AKC Dog Shows in Jr. Handling, Confirmation and Obedience.
With the childhood
experiences of showing I decided I wanted to 'show quality' Saints. I continue to
show successfully at many local and national AKC
dog shows. Over the years our Saints have won numerous awards and honors
that showcase this fine breed. Presently we
have eleven Saints. Four of which are Champions and 1 is major pointed. We
have had a few more Champions that are now at the Rainbow Bridge. There
are also some youngsters here that will be seeing the show ring soon.
I am currently a member of St Bernard Club of America and
I am in charge of advertising for the Saint Fancier magazine. I am
also a member of The Saint Bernard Club of the Finger Lakes
of which I am a board member, and have held the position of secretary and
newsletter editor.
Additionally I have entered our Saints in AKC Weight Pulling.
My dogs and I also attend weekly dog training classes in obedience and
confirmation. John and I have attended
numerous lectures and training seminars on the breed history,
reproduction, canine health and nutrition, behavioral and breed confirmation.
We have attended 6 of the Saint Bernard Club of America's National Shows.
Our other passion is riding our motorcycles. What else....Harley Davidson...American Made.
When I get presents...they're CHROME not gold!
