My dogs are 1st and foremost
my friends and companions. Secondarily they are confirmation show dogs.
The Saint Bernard breed is our
passion, actually an obsession to be honest. We strive to produce only those dogs who are sound of mind and health. We are very committed to our dogs and work actively with them. Our dogs
have daily access to . They are not just stuck in a kennel. We have a play
area for them which is in the woods on a nicely sloped hill for exercise.
Individual time is spent with each of the dogs especially the youngest.
Our goal is for each litter to be better than the last. We continuously aim for correct type, stable
temperaments, structural balance and functional correctness.
We are eager to share information about our breed and our dogs with you. We are interested in the well being of our puppies and want them to be placed in good loving companion homes. Time is spent each day with our puppies properly socializing them and
we work with each in getting them used to everyday household activities and noises. We encourage visitors of all ages during this critical initial learning period of their lives to come into our home and handle each of the pups. Between
the ages of 6-8 weeks old puppies are temperament tested. At 8 weeks they are evaluated for potential show prospects. Pups can go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age. Puppies that are sold as pets are sold with a 'limited AKC registration' and are to be spayed or neutered.
I chose the name
"Cornerstone" for my kennel name because the word has a lot of strength and
meaning to it.
In the Random House,
unabridged version cornerstone means 'the chief foundation on which something is
constructed or developed'
Roget New Millennium 2008
Thesaurus says by definition, the word cornerstone means 'the vital element'
'fulcrum,' synonyms: anchor, base, essential, foundation, key element, main
ingredient, strength, rock bottom, an indispensable and fundamental basis
Without a solid base
foundation one would not be able to produce satisfactory results.
The Bible reads in Isaiah
28:16 Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation, a stone, a tried
stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation.
